BBH Showcases Innovation at AIIM

The Boston Marathon wasn’t the only reason people were running around Beantown April 16-19. We at BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Scanners had to move fast to keep up with the excitement our new products generated at the AIIM 2007 Conference & Expo.

Visitors to our booth were treated to demonstrations of our full line of scanners. Naturally, that included our trusty Spectrum XF high- and mid-volume, and Trūper low-volume, production scanners. To greater surprise though, we showcased Infinity WF — our first wide-format scanner — and the new Sidekick 1400u, a small scanner that packs a big punch.

Wide-Format Scanner Offers Broad Reaching Capabilities

Infinity WF transforms oversized documents, such as architectural drawings, maps and engineering plans, into razor-sharp images with speed and accuracy. Available in three models – for documents up to 36, 42 and 48 inches wide – the scanner includes everything an end user needs to scan in color, bitonal and grayscale. SharpShooter™ cameras and an LED light help Infinity WF deliver high-resolution images at faster speeds than other scanners in its class.

Good Things Come in Small Packages

Now small offices can generate big results with the Sidekick 1400u, our new color duplex scanner bundle for departmental applications.

Building on the strengths of the award-winning Sidekick, the Sidekick 1400u is a compact desktop scanner packed with professional-grade scanning features. This includes Ultrasonic Multifeed Detection, a productivity feature first introduced by BÖWE BELL + HOWELL that prevents multiple documents from feeding at the same time.

The Sidekick 1400u also includes Multifeed Ignore, an advanced setting exclusive to BÖWE BELL + HOWELL that prevents the scanner from incorrectly identifying “irregular” documents — such as sticky notes, labels, photographs and envelopes — as multifeeds.

Kofax Certification Forthcoming

In a bid to make distributed capture easier to deploy and manage, we are working closely with Kofax to certify our midrange Trūper Series and entry-level Sidekick Series scanners for use with the Kofax Document Scan Server.

Document Scan Server enables companies to add scanning capabilities to any enterprise business application without additional software. It also centralizes the management of every scanner on a network, which allows IT administrators to easily direct the distributed scanning process without disrupting existing infrastructure.

Sidekick Series will be certified by summer. Trūper Series will be certified this spring.
