BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s New Wide-Format Scanner Now Shipping
Infinity WF Offers Sharper Images at Faster Speeds, Superior Paper Handling
WHEELING, Ill., Aug. 23, 2007 – Designed to convert documents up to 36 inches wide into digital images quickly and accurately, Infinity WF 36, the new wide-format scanner from BÖWE BELL + HOWELL, is now shipping.
Able to scan documents in bitonal, grayscale and color, Infinity WF 36 scans at rated speeds up to 8.5 inches per second (ips) in color at 300dpi and up to 12.6 ips in bitonal at 400 dpi.
Infinity WF 36 has a suggested retail price of $14,790. The scanner also is available in 42- and 48-inch models that will ship in the fall.
“We are excited to begin shipping Infinity WF,” said Russell Hunt, president of BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Scanners. “These fast and easy-to-use scanners are built on the same high quality standards customers have come to expect from us for over 20 years.”
Equipped to handle large format documents such as land surveys and architectural drawings, the Infinity WF is ideal for geographic information systems (GIS), government agencies, and architectural, engineering and construction firms.
Tough Scanner for Delicate Documents
Infinity WF employs SharpShooter™ Trilinear CCD cameras and an innovative LED light source that help the scanner extrapolate to 1200 dpi for extremely high-resolution images. The LED lights last the life of the scanner. Bundled scanning software augments the scanned image quality with features including color gamma correction, contrast and brightness control.
Infinity WF is packed with features that make it easier and more efficient to scan. Image Rotation, for example, allows users to feed a large document lengthwise and then rotate the scanned image to the proper orientation. The Automatic Width Detection feature eliminates the need to adjust paper width settings, and allows users to feed fragile documents through the middle of the scan table to avoid tearing or fraying edges.
Automatic camera calibration helps Infinity WF to be ready to scan as soon as it is turned on. As a true network scanner that does not require drivers to be installed on a dedicated computer, Infinity WF allows users to access the scanner from any computer connected to the enterprise server. Users can choose to scan to PDF, JPEG, TIFF or PNM files, and also scan to network, FTP server, print or email.
The scanner is easy to maintain, has low noise output and nearly no recurring costs on consumables. It also ships with everything a user needs for simple set up and operation: scanner stand with assembly tools, software for image capture and enhancement, power and crossover cables, calibration kit, roller cleaning paper and installation guide.
Offered exclusively by BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s value-added resellers in the United States, Infinity WF is Energy Star: Imaging Version 1.0 compliant. Each scanner is backed by a one-year onsite warranty in the United States.
