BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Logo Usage Guide

The BÖWE BELL + HOWELL brand is one of the company’s most valuable assets. This includes all the graphic elements of the BÖWE BELL + HOWELL corporate identity system—the corporate logo, the logo colors and the typeface.

The standards outlined below are designed to help you apply the BBH logo (identified below) correctly and consistently across all media.

Note: The logo was created to meet certain specifications, sizes and orientations. Do not attempt to recreate this artwork. These elements must always remain in the exact size and position that appear in the reproducible artwork. Always use approved artwork when reproducing the BÖWE BELL + HOWELL corporate logo.

General Rules:

The corporate logo should be used in all BBH communications and advertising.

Prior to using the BÖWE BELL + HOWELL logo, companies must submit a request to Linda Stiglicz (linda.stiglicz@bowebellhowell.com) describing the intended use. All requests are subject to approval.

For print, the BBH corporate logo must be used to sign off the ad. For television, a voiceover must speak the BBH name. The branding may be stylized or animated to convey a key message or idea in advertising.

Colors:

All printed materials must reflect the following Pantone colors:
BÖWE blue – Pantone 646

Web-safe Hex colors include:
BÖWE blue – §336699 or §5379A7

CMYK:
C: 72
M: 48
Y: 14
B: 3

RGB:
R: 73
G: 94
B: 145

Size and Logo Area:

Minimum size: To ensure that the BBH corporate logo is always legibly and accurately reproduced, minimum size guidelines have been determined. (See Below)

Clear Logo Area for Print and Electronic Media: Keep the clear area to each side of the BBH logo equal to or greater than the diameter of the BBH Icon. Follow this standard for all media except signs, banners, etc.

Clear Logo Area for Signs, Banners, etc.: Reproducing the BBH logo in sign applications often requires more flexibility. For banners, building facades, directory signs, monument signs, etc., provide a clear area equal to or greater than half the diameter of the BBH Icon.

Things to Avoid:

The corporate logo and identity must not be altered in any way.  Adhering to these guidelines will ensure proper reproduction and application of the logo.

1.    The BBH fanfold icon may not be separated from the company name. The icon may only be used as part of the company logo.
2.    Do not alter the relationship between the BBH Icon and the BBH logotype.
3.    Do not crowd the logo with other graphic elements including typography, illustration and photography.
4.    Do not replace the logotype with another typeface.
5.    Do not alter the proportions between the BBH Icon and the logotype.
6.    Do not stretch, condense or distort the logo in any way.
7.    Do not place other secondary identification symbols or images within the logo clear area.
8.    Do not create custom logos using the BBH logo.
9.    Do not reverse black.
10.    Do not transpose the colors of the BBH logo. If the BBH Icon is black, the BBH logotype must also appear in black.
11.    In general, do not apply the logo to uneven backgrounds, textured or screened backgrounds or reflective surfaces.
12.    Do not use a drop shadow effect.
13.    Do not place logo on too dark of a background.
14.    Do not add a glow effect.
