The Camera Calibration Kit helps you optimize image quality of your Spectrum XF or Copiscan 8000 Spectrum scanner. It is estimated that each camera used in every Spectrum unit will need to be calibrated approximately once a quarter. This is because the luminosity of the lamps degrades slowly over time and that affects how the camera “sees” colors, brightness and contrast. Calibrating the cameras with use of this kit resets the white level and balance in the scanner, as well as red, green and blue (RGB) color balance and gain setting, and horizontal light level correction. Cameras can be calibrated independently or together.

To calibrate the cameras, all you need to place the two control sheets into the scanner's feeder and run through a calibration sequence on the scanner’s front panel.  The control sheets are bright white, so that the camera interprets "saturated white" as true white and the sheets are cut with precision to be as wide as the camera and long enough to be handled easily. Calibrating the cameras without these control sheets could adversely affect image quality significantly. The test targets contained in this kit can be used to evaluate image quality once the cameras have been calibrated.
