Replacement skimmer assembly, includes two skimmer rollers

The user-replaceable skimmer assembly is used on all Spectrum XF, Copiscan 8000 Spectrum and Plus Series scanners. The assembly includes two skimmer rollers (part# S004821), a durable plastic housing, a plastic flag, and instructions. The flag is used to temporarily disable a sensor so that the input tray doesn't move up or down when you replace the skimmer assembly and/or rollers. Average life: 600,000 pages (based on life of the rollers, the plastic housing and flag will last much longer). 

The assembly is sometimes referred to as the "molded skimmer assembly" because it is made from plastic. It is described in this way to differentiate this new assembly from the previous skimmer assembly used on 8000 Plus models, which was constructed out of metal and had to be replaced in its entirety when the skimmer rollers wore out. Now, by using the new molded skimmer assembly, you can replace rollers individually at a significantly lower cost.

The Skimmer Assembly can be purchased individually from an Authorized Service Provider (ASP) or by purchasing a Spectrum XF All-In-One Kit or Spectrum All-In-One Kit which contains the assembly, two additional skimmer rollers (four skimmer rollers in all), and all the other consumables and cleaning supplies you'll need to keep your scanner running trouble-free for up to a year.
