BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Industry Compliance

As of July 1, 2006, BÖWE BELL + HOWELL's current products are compliant with the RoHS Directive adopted by the European Union

It is BÖWE BELL + HOWELL’s policy to conduct business in a manner consistent with sound environmental management practices and to comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations.

The European Union (EU) RoHS Directive (the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment), which takes effect July 1, 2006, is intended to reduce the use of substances that may pose risks to human health or the environment.

Based on information provided by our suppliers, we attest that all BÖWE BELL + HOWELL scanner models shipped to the European Union on or after July 1, 2006 will be RoHS compliant.

Our current product line includes:

  • Spectrum XF
  • Trūper 3600
  • Trūper 3200
  • Sidekick
  • 730DCFB

RoHS compliant means that our suppliers have confirmed the compliance status of relevant products to us.

We have implemented rigorous processes to confirm and document this including:

  • Performing material content testing where appropriate
  • Obtaining certificates of compliance from our suppliers
  •  Maintaining a full audit trail of relevant documentation to support this compliance
  • We have introduced new part numbers where appropriate to assure compliant product throughout our distribution network

Confirmation of compliance status by our suppliers is either because the products do not contain any of the restricted substances referred to in Article 4 (1) of the RoHS Directive at concentrations in excess of those permitted under the RoHS Directive or because removal of the restricted substances is not technically possible and their existence is allowed under exemption as listed in the Annex to the RoHS Directive. For these purposes, the maximum concentration values of the restricted substances by weight in homogenous materials are:

Lead 0.1%
Mercury 0.1%
Hexavalent Chromium 0.1%
Polybrominated Biphenyis 0.1%
Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers 0.1%
Cadmium 0.01%
