We are launching a new product the Sidekick 1400u!
The Sidekick 1400u – is a new model, maintaining the same best-in-class features as its predecessor, the 1400, and is now available with Ultrasonic Multifeed Detection and has been manufactured to meet the Energy Star requirements that will take effect in April 2007.
NEW Sidekick 1400u Features Ultrasonic Multifeed Detection
Ultrasonic multifeed detects multiple documents from going through the scanner at the same time. This technology, originally designed by BÖWE BELL + HOWELL, sets the standard for multifeed detection. Ultrasonic multifeed uses sound waves to detect multiple documents going through the scanner at the same time. This technology assures you that all of your documents get scanned. The ultrasonic multifeed detection incorporates two unique features specific to the BBH line of scanners to further increase scanning efficiency: Auto Resolve and Multifeed Ignore. These are two differentiating features for the Sidekick 1400u.
Auto Resolve 
With Auto Resolve, if a multifeed is detected, Sidekick prevents the image from being sent to the scanning application. The multifed document is immediately re-scanned without losing its place in the image batch. This significantly increases scanning efficiency. By eliminating the need to re-scan the document and then insert it into the correct batch after the batch is complete, the operator spends more time scanning and less time rescanning multifed documents.
Multifeed Ignore
With Multifeed Ignore, the scanner can be quickly and easily set up to allow an intended multifeed document to be successfully scanned. This includes documents with attached sticky notes, photographs or envelopes. The Multifeed Ignore feature allows you to capture all of the document’s information without extra document preparation.
Ultrasonic multifeed was first introduced with BBH’s flagship high-speed production Spectrum Series. The low-volume production Trūper Series also incorporates this feature in addition to the Multifeed Ignore function. Now, BBH’s departmental scanner, Sidekick 1400u, is also proud to include the advanced feature.
1400u Meets New Energy Star Requirements
The Sidekick 1400u has been designed and manufactured to meet the new energy efficiency criteria set by the US Environmental Protection Agency or the US Department of Energy that will become effective in April 2007. This means that the 1400u reduces the cost of electricity and helps protect the environment by causing fewer harmful emissions from power plants.
USB 2.0 Connectivity Available
The Sidekick 1400u continues to offer USB 2.0 connectivity. This connection fully supports the scanner and all of its functionality. The SCSI III connection will not be available with the 1400u model. The Sidekick 1400 will be available for a limited time, which includes the SCSI III connection.
