Please note that this upgrade can only be used with 8000 Plus units with firmware version 2.0 or later. To see what firmware version resides on your scanner, just click the left arrow key on the front panel of the scanner until you see "Code Revision Numbers" on the operator interface LCD display – then click the "F3" key for "Next" and the firmware version will be displayed above "Scanner Rev."
The 8000 Plus Productivity Upgrade allows you to enhance your Copiscan 8000 Plus Series scanner so that you can enjoy some of the same features introduced on the Spectrum Series:
- Intelligent Ultrasonic Multifeed Detection – now you can catch all double-feeds automatically so you don't have to rescan the entire batch again, in a much better way; with the additional "Ignore by Size" capability, items such as photographs, labels and envelopes that are up to 10" in length (254 mm), which other scanners may interpret as a multifeed, are scanned quickly and seamlessly without stopping
- Front Panel Lockout – this allows supervisors to prevent the possibility of improper settings being entered into the scanner via the front panel; even when locked out, users will still be able to use the cleaning menu, view code revisions and reset batch counters
- Adjustable Beep Volume Control – now you can set the volume of scanner alerts to match your environment
- Imprinted Zeroes with or without Slashes – ok, this may not seem like a big deal but can be very useful in some cases, especially when imprinting/endorsing using a small font size
