I put paper in the feed table but the table will not lift. What could cause this issue?

If the skimmer assembly is in the up position the table will not rise.  If the operator turns on the Manual feed mode with paper in the feed tray, the table will not lift.  If those two conditions don’t apply, open the scanner and look for the skimmer flag.  It should be in the location above the skimmer in the sensor holder and be able to read the word UP.
