What is the advantage of VRS?
VRS allows users to save over $25,000 per operator annually in typical high-volume applications (see Exhibit 1). This savings is generated because VRS minimizes the number of documents that need to be rescanned because of multifeeds, paper jams, folded corners, skewed documents, and poor image quality. In the event of an error, VRS will not write the image file, giving the operator the opportunity to retrieve the document and rescan it without having to sort through the batch and deleting or inserting images. No other software on the market offers this functionality. For more details, please visit http://www.kofax.com.
Exhibit 1 – Sample Application:
- 125 PPM scanner (8125D)
- 10,000 documents to scan per day (8-hour shift)
- 80 minutes total scanning time (10,000 docs ÷ 125 PPM)
- 375 minutes for searching (750 docs x 30 sec/doc)
- 750 documents to be rescanned (.075% typical; 0.075 x 10,000 docs)
- 30 sec/doc to locate the document
Non-VRS – e.g., Kodak Perfect Page
- 6.25 hours to rescan (375 minutes)
- Operator earns $8.50/hour
- Rescanning costs $53 per operator per day or $13,250/year (250 working days)
With VRS – no batch rescans needed
- Rescans are reduced by 50%
- 3.13 hours to rescan
- At least $6,625 saved per operator, per year
