How do I install VRS?

The following are step-by-step installation instructions for both software & firmware. VRS Software needs to be installed before firmware.

Software:
1. Load CD and software will proceed to Auto Run.

2. If Auto Run starts, then follow prompts on screen.

3. If Auto Run does not start, then run setup from root directory of CD

4. The CD will create a new program. Go to start/programs/kofaxVRS/VCDem32P.exe

5. VCDemo will open. (refer to the Getting Started Guide for instruction on operating VRS)

Firmware:
1. To download new Avocet firmware the scanner must be powered up with the VRS cable attached.

2. Load firmware through: C:/programfiles/Kofax/Imgctls/Bin/fwwizard. (C: may vary depending on the drive which you installed the software)

3. After starting fwwizard choose "Typical" install, then click "Next".

4. Click "Auto Detect", and after several seconds the scanner type and Avocet firmware version currently on the board will be displayed.

5. Click "Next" to begin the software download. (This will take several minutes to complete)

6. Once complete, you can check the current Avocet firmware version on the scanner by using the scanner's "Code Revision Numbers" menu. Press the "Next" button on the scanner OI until the display shows "Avocet Software v1.05.17".
