My Bell & Howell Copiscan II scanner keeps running after the paper is out. I've tried lowering the timeout value but nothing changes.

Copiscan II scanners have no paper-out sensor. However, the ADF 100 and ADF 500 feeders have a jumper setting (labeled P3) that will send a paper out to the scanner. To set the jumper, first remove the feeder. There are two sets of jumpers on the feeder: one on the left and one on the right. Set the P3 jumper on the right to 2&3. This will enable the paper out feature of the ADF, and the scanner will stop when it is out of paper.
