Imprinter Function with VRS 4.10.039

 

When using VRS 4.10.039 (OEM Build .039) and the BÖWE BELL + HOWELL Sidekick 1400, the VRS imprinter function is inoperative. However, using the integrated ISIS imprinter function (installed with VRS 4.10.039) reclaims the imprinter function.

 

The VRS function known as: Endorser/Annotation (see fig.1 below) used and functional in v4.0 to configure the imprinter (if installed) does not work with Sidekick 1400 in version 4.10.039.

This function prints on the documents to be scanned. Pre Imprinter prints on the front sides of document sheets before they are scanned. The printed results are also reflected on the scanned images.

Workaround:

To use the imprinter with this version of VRS (4.10.039) the Imprinter settings within the ISIS driver must be used. The ISIS Imprinter settings will provide equal values and function in most options of the "Endorser" features, with some minor differences in configuration.

The following instructions are provided to help you setup the imprinter using the ISIS driver:

The imprinter settings option is located in the "Advanced Settings" menu

To view the Advanced Settings window:

  1. Open VCDemo (or your scanning application) and select the Sidekick Scanner
  2. Select Advanced Properties from the Source pull down menu.

The Virtual ReScan Interactive Viewer will open to display advanced VRS settings


 

Select Scanner Driver Settings from the Tools menu.

 

The Advanced Settings window appears.

  1. Select by clicking on the Imprinter button.
  2. In the Imprinter Setting dialog box, select the Enable check box.
  3. The Imprinter String field now appears.
