Do Spectrum XF models offer long page support?
Yes. Spectrum XF scanner models can scan documents up to 40" or 1,016 mm in length.
To use the long document support, page size must be set to "Maximum" and ”Continuous Page" (Image Controls) or "Long Document" (TWAIN) must be selected in VRS. If you only select “Maximum” in the paper size without selecting “Continuous Sheet” or "Long Document", the maximum scan size is 17” (431.8 mm).
There are different maximum lengths depending on the controls used and the selections made.
Image Controls:
For all DPI’s and Color Modes (bitonal, grayscale &color), except 400 dpi color, the maximum scan image is 40”. (1,016 mm). For 400DPI Color mode, you can use a physical sheet no longer than 36” (914.4 mm) long; otherwise the scan image will be corrupt. If a 36” (or shorter) sheet is run through the scanner, a correct scan image will be produced.
ISIS:
Maximum scan length is 16.5” to 16.7” (419.1-424.18 mm) long. In the ISIS interface there is no “long page” type selection that will allow a longer scan. Paper size should still be set to maximum.
TWAIN:
The TWAIN interface acts just like the Image Controls in all respects as far as scan image sizes. TWAIN’s version of “Continuous Sheet” selection is labeled “Long Document”.
