Can I have more than one version of VRS installed a single workstation at a time?

No, only one version of VRS can be installed on a single workstation at a time. Different versions of VRS utilize different versions of Image Controls. Therefore, VRS 4.0 Plus, which ships standard with every Spectrum XF scanner, must be installed on a PC after any previous versions have been uninstalled.

To uninstall previous versions of VRS,

  1. Go to Windows Control Panels Add/Remove program, and remove Kofax / ACE Virtual ReScan or any other listed VRS from your PC.(Press "Yes to All" when prompted for file uninstall)
  2. Next, Use the Windows Find Files program to find and delete all files with the following name patterns: Kofax200.ini, *310.*, bic*, kfx, kpm. 
  3. Reboot the PC

You are now ready to install VRS.
